Australia 1.0–1.2 T/H Alfalfa Feed Pellet Line

Background: Large alfalfa farms in the region, but exporting loose hay is expensive and storage losses are high. The client wanted to turn high-quality alfalfa into dense feed pellets for local dairy farms and for export to Southeast Asia.

Raw material: Dried alfalfa hay (13–15% moisture)

Capacity: 1.0–1.2 t/h

Main equipment: CZLH350 alfalfa pellet machine, teardrop grinder, counter-flow cooler, drum screener

Customer feedback: “We tried a regular feed pellet mill – the pelleting rate was only about 70%. The CZLH350’s forced feeder and ring die compression ratio are perfectly suited for alfalfa fiber. We reached a 95% pelleting rate, with good uniform hardness. Our customers say the pellets are very palatable.”

US 1.8-2.0 T/H Alfalfa Feed Pellet Production Line

Background: The client is a large-scale local farm that produces a large amount of alfalfa stalks and corn stalks annually. Direct feeding these to animals results in low digestibility and absorption, and open-air storage easily leads to mold and waste. The client processes these two coarse fiber raw materials into complete feed pellets specifically for cattle and sheep, supplying them to their beef cattle and sheep farms.

Raw materials: Alfalfa stalks (60%), Corn stalks (40%)

Capacity: 1.8–2.0 tons/hour

Main equipment: CZLH420 pellet mill, dryer, counter-current cooler, vibrating screen

Customer feedback: “Mixed straw has coarse and hard fibers, which easily clogs the die in ordinary equipment. The CZLH420’s arch-breaking forced feeding system operates very stably, with no die clogging issues even after 300 hours of continuous production. The resulting pellets are very compact and have good storage resistance.”

Germany 2.8–3.0 T/H Mixed Alfalfa and Ryegrass Feed Pellet Line

Background: The client runs a feed processing center for organic ranches, needing high-protein grass pellets for nearby organic dairy farms. Organic feed rules ban chemical binders, so the pellet mill has to rely purely on physical compression – a tough requirement.

Raw material: 70% alfalfa, 30% ryegrass

Capacity: 2.8–3.0 t/h

Main equipment: CZLH520 alfalfa pellet machine, hammer mill, counter-flow cooler, automatic bagging scale

Customer feedback: “Without binders, pellet hardness was always our biggest headache. The CZLH520’s high-compression ring die and precise conditioning/moisture control technology got our fines content below 3%. That fully meets organic feed certification requirements.”

Brazil 4-5 T/H Alfalfa Stalk Pellet Production Line

Background: The client originally manufactured wood chips. Due to the thriving local livestock industry and abundant sugarcane bagasse fiber, they began to transform their business to produce composite forage pellets, ultimately supplying large-scale beef cattle and dairy goat farms.

Raw materials: Alfalfa stalks (50%), Sugarcane bagasse (50%)

Capacity: 4-5 tons/hour

Main equipment: CZLH678 pellet mill, belt conveyor, dryer, counter-current cooler, pellet screener

Customer feedback: “Sugarcane bagasse is fluffy, and alfalfa stalk fibers are coarse and tough; pressing them separately results in poor pellet formation. The CZLH678 pellet mill we purchased uses a large-diameter ring die, plus a forced feeder, which mixes them together and presses them into very compact and intact pellets.”
