In a nutshell: It is a device that can process oil palm empty fruit bunches into pellets.
After palm oil is extracted, a large amount of wet and tough fibers remain as empty fruit bunches. These bunches may seem useless, but EFB pellet machine can compress these empty fruit bunches into high-density, stable-calorific-value pellets, which can be used as fuel for boilers or power plants.
RICHI’s EFB pellet machine is specially designed for the characteristics of oil palm empty fruit bunches, ensuring less clogging and fewer shutdowns during production, longer-lasting ring dies, and the production of uniform and solid pellets. This allows you to be more confident whether for external delivery or internal use.

Advantages of EFB Pellet Machine
To handle EFB, which is a difficult-to-process raw material, you really need some genuine skills. Our EFB pellet machine uses some key technical features to bring many advantages to the entire machine.
The overall frame of the EFB pellet machine has been thickened, making it extremely rigid. This ensures that the machine operates with minimal vibration, allowing the key granulation components such as the ring die and the roller to function stably and reliably. Even under high-load operation, the entire machine will not pose any safety issues.
Of course, everything requires precautions. What if there are abnormal situations such as blockage or overload? Don’t worry, we have equipped the equipment with an overload protection device. If any of these problems occur, the safety components will automatically break, and the limit switch will automatically stop the machine. This protects the core components such as the ring die, roller, and gearbox.
Safe Enough
The raw material fibers of EFB are relatively coarse. After a series of granulation processes, many components will be involved, and over time, the core granulation components will inevitably suffer wear. To minimize wear and extend the equipment’s service life, the ring die we use is forged from 42CrMo alloy steel and has undergone carburizing hardening treatment on the surface, with a hardness of HRC 58–62. Its wear resistance is much higher than that of ordinary stainless steel, perfectly matching the coarse fiber raw materials.
Durable and Wear-Resistant
If a single EFB pellet machine can only produce a fixed-sized pellet, it will result in unnecessary investment. You must be concerned about whether there is any method to freely adjust the compactness or diameter size of EFB pellets? Of course, there is!
Our equipment can adjust the compression ratio within the range of 1:10 to 1:18 according to your raw material conditions. By replacing molds with different hole diameters, you can obtain pellets of different thicknesses. It is extremely flexible. In addition, the inner wall of the ring die’s hole has undergone precise polishing, with a roughness control of Ra ≤ 0.8 microns. When the EFB raw materials pass through, it is particularly smooth and less prone to clogging.

Why is the production capacity listed in the product parameters as a range instead of a fixed number?

Because the variety of EFB, moisture content, fineness of grinding, oil content, whether other raw materials are mixed, etc., all directly affect the molding speed and production capacity of the granulation process. For example, for the same MZLH420 model, when pressing pure EFB dry material (with a moisture content of 15% and a fineness through a 4mm sieve), the production capacity is approximately 1.0-1.2 tons per hour; but if 30% of wood chips are mixed in, the production capacity can increase to 1.5 tons per hour. If the raw material moisture content is too high (20%), the production capacity may drop to 0.8 tons per hour. Therefore, the range we provide is a typical working condition reference, and the actual data should be based on the results of on-site raw material trial operation.
If you want to know the production capacity corresponding to your raw materials, you can send a small sample bag over. We will conduct a real measurement at the factory.
Can the compression ratio of the ring die be adjusted? Under what circumstances is a high compression ratio needed?

It can be adjusted. The compression ratio of the ring die refers to the ratio of the effective length of the die hole to the diameter of the hole. When the moisture content of the raw materials is relatively low (12%-14%) and the fibers are fine and soft, the compression ratio can be reduced, which leads to higher production capacity and lower power consumption. If the moisture content in the raw materials is relatively high (16%-18%) and the fibers are relatively coarse and hard, a high compression ratio can be used. In this case, the pellets produced will be very compact and less likely to become loose.
Is the ash content of EFB fuel pellets high? Will it be difficult to sell?

If it is produced in compliance with regulations and under good pre-treatment conditions, the ash content of EFB fuel pellets will stabilize at around 4%-5%, which is a recognized high-quality fuel standard in the industry. You don’t need to worry about the sales issue. Compared to straw pellets, EFB pellets have lower ash content and higher calorific value. Many industrial boiler factories, biomass power plants, and heating enterprises will purchase them in large quantities on a long-term basis.
How much does an EFB granulation production line cost?

This depends on various factors, such as the capacity of the equipment. If you only purchase one MZLH320 EFB pellet machine (without peripheral equipment), the price is approximately several thousand US dollars. If you want to complete the entire production line equipment (grinding machine, dryer, cooler, screening machine, etc.) and calculate based on the scale, you need to do it according to the size. How long is the warranty period? Who can repair the equipment if there is a problem?

If you purchase our EFB pellet machine, you can enjoy a whole machine warranty of 12 months. For minor small faults that are not caused by human factors, we can remotely guide you on how to troubleshoot and solve the problem. For more serious faults, we can contact us to arrange professional technicians to come and solve the problem.
It should be noted that the wear parts such as ring dies, rollers, and cutting knives are not within the warranty scope. If these components are damaged, you can also contact us for shipment, and we have sufficient original factory parts.
Are there second-hand EFB pellet machines for sale?

No. We only sell brand-new equipment because the performance, lifespan and after-sales service of new machines are more reliable. Although second-hand EFB pellet machines might be cheaper, they may have hidden wear and tear. If you buy them, they might break down frequently and the repair costs could add up to be more than buying a new one. Of course, if your budget is limited, you can simply tell us and our engineers will try their best to customize a most cost-effective solution within your affordability.
