How to Make Cattle Feed Pellets

Cleaning
If you don’t want the equipment to suffer from impact and wear, it’s best to pay attention from the very first step. The first step in RICHI’s cattle feed production line is to clean the raw materials, removing stones, weeds, metal fragments, etc. that may be mixed in the raw materials of the cattle feed.

Crushing
Most of the raw materials for cattle feed pellets have a certain volume, such as corn, soybean meal, and straw. They have high hardness and various shapes. If they are directly used for pelletizing, they are likely to clog the equipment. Therefore, these raw materials need to be crushed into uniform powder using a grinding device.

Drying
If your area has a humid climate with a lot of rainfall, the raw materials for cattle feed will inevitably contain some moisture when stored. In order to ensure that the cattle feed pellets can be perfectly formed, it is necessary to use drying equipment to evaporate this moisture and keep them in a dry state.

Mixing

Pelleting
After the uniform mixture is sent at a certain speed into the pelleting machine’s conditioner, they will stay here for a period of time. Here, the cattle feed ingredients and steam will be fully mixed, achieving the effects of maturation, gelatinization, and sterilization of the ingredients. After coming out of the mixer, they enter the pelleting chamber. The press rollers will squeeze these ingredients out as long strips, and then they will be cut by the cutter into a fixed length. Thus, uniform feed pellets are formed.

Cooling
The cattle feed pellets just coming out of the pelleting machine are hot, with a temperature of approximately 80°C. If they are directly packed and stored, there is a risk of mold growth. Therefore, a cooling device is used to reduce the temperature, making the temperature of the feed pellets close to room temperature.

Screening
Under high temperature, the cooled cattle feed pellets will be more solid, and there may be tiny broken powder, which may cause some incomplete cattle feed pellets. Our screening equipment can filter out those with damaged surfaces and less qualified cattle feed pellets, leaving only the uniformly sized finished products.

Packaging
When you usually pack the feed yourself, it can be very laborious. With RICHI’s packaging scale, it’s different. This step can save a lot of manpower.
